ASHWINI VAIDYA GUPTE: SOME CALLIGRAPHY

I used to do calligraphy years ago. I decided to get back to it and started with some recipes.

About Me...

I am a freelance textile designer living in Bangalore, India. I have worked on different projects creating textile pieces for interiors, hand puppets, illustrations, print design, children garments....and of course anything that has to do with textiles.

I came to India to study at the National Institute of Design in 1995. I grew up in South East Asia, mainly in Thailand, Philippines, Kuala Lumpur. I also lived a couple of years in England and Oman. Coming to India to study textile design was a life changing experience in understanding India and my roots.
All my travels and exposure to different cultures over the years has framed the type of person I am and I try to capture my journey in my work.
I am a proud mum of two lovely, fiesty and spirited girls... Their childhood has opened a whole new world in cakes, costumes and toys. This continues to be a wonderful creative outlet.
